Hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring season with the freshness of cool breeze and beautiful flowers.Now I know its a little late to do trend forecasting for spring , but i thought why not to share what i observed are the hottest trends this spring.
Of course there are the more classic trends that never went out of fashion since their arrival in the early 60’s and those would be our classic shiffon dresses in pastel hues with soft floral prints and feminine flowy cuts. So this spring is not so different with a few exceptions.
1) Printed pants / denims / leggings
The first trend that I see really catching up are printed pants / denims / leggings . These are adorned with pretty prints from bright florals to retro prints like classic Monroe and cigar flaunting figures from the 60’s.
What to wear them with
Team them up with a flowy plain top in complimenting or very nude / pastel colour , let the fit not bother you as these tapering pants would really need all the attention alone.
Accessorize
To make a statement pair them with bright and block jewelry pieces or flaunt a retro print clutch and dont forget your colourful pumps u bought last summer 🙂
2) Print fatigue layering & simple silhouette dresses
Yes believe it or not but print fatigue is not just confined to winters and autumn collections now , we have stores flooded with chic simple silhoutte dresses this spring , a lot of black and white in clean cuts and ofcourse the classic pastels and soft hues.
Also to pump up the X-Factor of these clean cuts its a good idea to add monotone or contrasting layering , best way is to play around with different textures in the same tone by adding a lace or crochet , also wearing different length tops on top of the other and then finishing with a bolero jacket or shrug.
What to wear them with
These dresses are self sufficient statement pieces , so all they need is a nude pair of Huruache or T-strap , and if its a knee length ,wedges would be a better choice , also stay away from chunky jewelry if you are rocking a chic look stick to the plain jane collection of metallic danglers , loops or swirls , anything metallic but sophisticated would be ideal.
A classic hairdo with several pleated bun or a french knot with loose hair haning on your forhead would simply make you look like a greek godess , but if you are not a fan of hairdoes well just iron your hair pin straight and rock this look with sophistication and poise .
3) Block block block 🙂
OMG I cant even tell you how much i am currently falling for colour blocking , its the hottest trend . Its a fun way of wearing your personality and letting everyone know that you are not scared of wearing a fuschia with a lime green . So its basically wearing several bold colours together in asymmetrical patterns that compliment your body type.
The only thing you need to watch out for is that blocking needs to be done at just the right places or you just might be a step away from a serious Faux Pas , so if you are an Apple make sure the majority of colour variation in your attire is focused to your lower body and if you are a pear do the vice versa and well if you are those few lucky hourglass types go crazy with different styles.
Since blocking in itself is a bold style don’t over do it with anymore bold accessories , instead stick to a no jewelry and minimal makeup look , but if you are a typical indian girl like me and mom wouldn’t let you go out without any jewelry , well stick to those small cute studs or baby solitaire studs.
Another option if you think tri/quad coloured clothes is not your style is to block your footwear , yes these look adorable with plain and simple dresses , even if worn with the safest denims and white linen shirt , these colourful ballerinas will add a zing to your style without crying out for attention.
So what are you waiting for girls , its time to be a spring princess , after all its all about letting your true personality expressed in your style , fashion is not what you follow but what comes out of you.
